Howbury School is located in a serene environment in Mende, Maryland. We are a family oriented school catering for children from 3 months to 11 years. Our learning environment is safe and stimulating. Our pupils are educated in a structured, relaxed and caring environment .
The school officially opened in January 2011 offering only creche services, by September 2011 the nursery section opened. Propelled by the success of the creche and nursery , the school started offering primary education in September 2013.
We offer an integrated, broad and balanced curriculum; a blend of the English curriculum and the Nigerian national curriculum. Our curriculum will be complemented by the Cambridge Primary curriculum which provide seamless progression to the Cambridge Secondary curriculum and the IGCSE exam. We are currently pursuing registration with the British council to enable us prepare our children for the Cambridge Primary checkpoint tests. The Cambridge checkpoint test are marked by Cambridge examiners and provide external international benchmark for pupil performance.

The Academic Secretary will work closely with the Head Teacher to ensure teaching and learning run smoothly in the school.
The ideal candidate must be have the ability to multitask,manage time and relate with colleagues in a professional way.
Additionally, the job holder must have in-depth knowledge of the Google workspace, Microsoft office tools and as well be able to operate office machines seamlessly.
Responsibilities
Source, collate and store (for easy retrieval)weekly learning materials for the teaching staff.
Issue and retrieve weekly teaching resources. Keep accurate record of same. Run photocopies and print out resources for teachers.
Provide standard support to the Academic Team in resource sourcing and allocation to ensure smooth workflow.
Timely generate and provide marking guides/score guide where available (from designated sources) exam questions and baseline tests as will be required from time to time.
Keep an accurate record of assessment questions for easy retrieval.
Schedule Academic and Non Academic meetings as instructed.
Generate various communications as instructed.
Record and observe lessons as will be assigned from time to time. Maintain an accurate data of class recordings.
Source competitions/events, CPD for teachers and the Academic Team.
Prompt teachers on weekly tasks.
Convert pupils’ data into graphs, give reports and recommendations.
Observe interventions and keep record of pupils’ progress.
Weekly report of all areas covered.
Requirements
Candidates should possess relevant qualifications in a related field.
