Our client, a key player in Nigeria’s commercial poultry industry, is hiring an experienced Veterinary Doctors’ Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of veterinary professionals across scheme broiler farms.
This is a strategic leadership position focused on ensuring animal health, veterinary compliance, disease prevention, and scientific excellence across commercial poultry operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of veterinary doctors across scheme farms, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and professional discipline.
Conduct clinical assessments of broiler chickens to diagnose diseases, injuries, and environmental stressors.
Administer vaccination programs, prescribe treatment protocols, and oversee pharmacological use and inventory management.
Provide expert advisory services on poultry health, nutrition, and best biosecurity practices to stakeholders and farm teams.
Supervise the implementation of artificial insemination (AI), pregnancy diagnosis (PD), post-mortem (PM), and surgical procedures where required.
Control parasitic infestations (ecto/endoparasites), coordinate treatment regimes, and monitor recovery.
Key Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from a recognized university.
Must possess an active veterinary license and appropriate certifications.
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in commercial broiler farms with progressive leadership responsibilities.
Proven track record in managing veterinary teams within large-scale poultry operations.
Proficiency in artificial insemination, clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical intervention.
Certification in Artificial Insemination is mandatory.
Solid knowledge of veterinary medical equipment, anaesthesia administration, and modern disease control methods.
