The Engineering Technician supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and utility systems.
The role ensures equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, utility systems (e.g., HVAC, compressed air, purified water systems), and instrumentation.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
Support validation and calibration activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain detailed maintenance records and update maintenance logs and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Collaborate with production, QA/QC, and other departments to ensure equipment readiness and resolve technical issues.
Participate in equipment qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ) and engineering change control processes.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and participate in hazard and risk assessments.
Monitor equipment performance trends and recommend improvements or replacements.
Assist in training junior technicians or operators on equipment use and basic troubleshooting.

Qualifications and Skills

ND / HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
2+ years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of cGMP, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing and utility systems such as blenders, granulators, fluid bed dryers, packaging lines, HVAC, boilers, etc.
Proficient in reading mechanical and electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication, teamwork, and time management abilities.

Working Conditions:

May require shift work, weekend availability, and on-call duty.
Work may involve exposure to chemicals, noise, and mechanical equipment.
