An Inventory Officer in real estate manages construction materials, tools, and equipment at project sites to ensure efficient operations and accurate records.
They handle procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, often conducting site inspections and reconciling physical counts with software systems to prevent stockouts.
Key Responsibilities
Site Inventory Management: Monitoring construction material levels to ensure optimal stock for project managers and reducing waste.
Receipt and Inspection: Receiving incoming shipments, verifying quality, and reconciling goods against purchase orders.
Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date inventory databases, spreadsheets, and generating inventory reports.
Asset Security: Safeguarding tools and materials at construction sites.
Coordination: Working with site engineers, contractors, and procurement departments to ensure material availability.
Requirements
Education: HND / BSc Degree in Inventory Management, Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience: Generally 2–5 years of experience in construction or real estate, particularly in storekeeping or inventory management.
Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), inventory software/ERP systems, strong organizational skills, and high attention to detail.
