Our client, a 360-degree Marketing Consult, Support, Strategy development and Business solutions company, is seeking to hire a driven and eager-to-learn Accountant Trainee to join its team.
The role holder will be a team member in the finance unit and provide support to the Finance department by preparing financial statements, reporting, managing daily accounting and ensuring transparency for the company’s finances.
Job Responsibilities:
Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
Updating accounts receivable and issue invoices.
Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
Assisting in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements.
Assisting with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc.
Updating financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
Preparing and submitting weekly/monthly reports.
Assisting senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
Assisting with other accounting projects.
Ability to be strategic and give input on financial metrics that can aid business growth.
Person Specification:
A bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field from any recognised Institution (Minimum Second Class Lower, 2:1).
0-1 year of experience (internship experience is a plus).
Proven experience in Taxation or related tax services is a plus.
ACCA / relevant certification or On-going.
Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practice.
Great attention to detail.
