The Audit & Tax Officer will support audit and tax engagements by performing audit fieldwork, preparing tax computations, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The role requires strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in audit and tax processes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning and executing audit assignments
Perform audit testing and prepare working papers
Prepare financial statements and audit reports
Compute and prepare tax returns including CIT, VAT, WHT, and PAYE
Assist with tax audits, investigations, and reconciliations
Maintain proper documentation for audit and tax engagements
Support senior team members in client engagements
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
ICAN/ACCA qualification or progress toward certification is an advantage
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, with at least 1 year in an accounting or consulting firm
Good understanding of audit procedures and Nigerian tax laws
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
