The IDMANN Institute provides tertiary education. The Institute operates two colleges and one school-the College of General Studies, the College of Lifelong Learning, and the School of Technical Sciences.The School of Technical Sciences awards diplomas and degrees in support of the specialized training programs offered, while the Colleges only award Associateās Degrees (equivalent to an advanced Diploma) and Certificates of Completion respectively.The College of General Studies provides basic training in a variety of courses to enable matriculation into the School of Technical Sciences.
The courses are intended to “provide a durable, discernible and differentiating set of core competencies & professional values shared by all graduates of IDMANN Institute irrespective of vocation or field of specializationā. Every student who intends to graduate from any of the School of Technical Science must complete the Associate Training Program in the College of General Studies, or demonstrate sufficient proficiency to secure a waiver in pertinent courses.The College of Lifelong Learning provides training for external students of all ages (including retirees and mid-career professionals) seeking personal or professional development in a variety of subject areas. These courses are typically not geared toward degrees or diplomas but instead proficiency tests that lead to a Certificate of Completion.The Institute is headed by the Provost (who oversees the entire Institute) and is supported by a Dean of Technical Sciences and the Masters of the Colleges. The Institute is located in Umuahia. A significant majority of the courses are offered as online learning opportunities.Job Summary
As the demand for our services has grown, we are looking to hire a Business Manager to drive the offering of our services.
We intend to hire two business managers, one to focus on technical entrepreneurship and personal development courses offered by IDMANN Institute, and the other to focus on early childhood education and academic development offerings by IDMANN Academy.
Successful candidates will be expected to interact daily and seamlessly with colleagues and associates in local as well as international locations, providing the world-class technical and vocational education we are committed to providing.
Comfort with this kind of cross-border engagement is central to this role.
Requirements
Relevant teaching or training experience consistent with the job description.
Experience with managing or delivering training, learning and/or knowledge services (with an emphasis on early childhood and secondary education in the case of IDMANN Academy).
Experience with developing and/or running educational, vocational or human capital development programs.
Prior experience as an educational administrator or a program administrator in an academic institution would be a distinct advantage.
Relevant experience with human capital programs in international development organizations would also be considered advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to manage and direct human capital proficiently and effectively, preferably in an educational setting. Prior experience with managing remote teams would be a distinct advantage.
First-hand facility with business development, preferably in an educational setting. Prior experience working in an international or cross-border engagement would be preferable.
Ability to act as an effective ambassador for IDMANN and affiliated schoosl in Nigeria. Personal comportment and presence will be significant factors in this regard.
Demonstrably outstanding organizational capabilities.
Seamless ability to interface with (domestic & international) instructors, students, parents, regulators and associates alike.
