Job Title: Field Implementation Support Officer (FISO) – Smiles for Mothers (SfM) Program
Location: Bauchi, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina & Yobe
Client Overview:
Our client is implementing the Smiles for Mothers (SfM) Program, a maternal and newborn health initiative focused on improving health outcomes through evidence-based clinical interventions. The program supports the delivery of quality maternal and newborn healthcare by strengthening service delivery, monitoring program performance, building healthcare worker capacity, and improving data quality across supported health facilities.
The Field Implementation Support Officer (FISO) will provide field-level technical support to ensure effective implementation of maternal and newborn health interventions. The role involves routine facility monitoring, data collection and analysis, supportive supervision, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and tracking program performance to improve service delivery across supported facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine monitoring visits to health facilities to collect, verify, and report programme data, ensuring the quality and accuracy of maternal and newborn health information.
- Provide and on-the-job coaching supportive supervision to healthcare workers to strengthen clinical documentation, reporting, referral systems, and quality improvement practices.
- Engage and collaborate with health facility feams and state-level stakeholders to support effective programme implementation, performance monitoring, and service delivery.
Requirements
- BSc in Nursing, Midwifery, or another health-related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in health workforce development, preferably in maternal and newborn health programmes.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluating health programmes, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and the use of digital data management tools.
- Strong understanding of maternal and newborn health interventions, including pharmacovigilance, referral systems, and HMIS
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
