We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Civil Engineering to lead and manage all civil engineering projects within the organization.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project planning, design, execution, and delivery while ensuring quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
This role requires a strong technical background, leadership capability, and the ability to manage multiple construction projects within timelines and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all civil engineering projects from concept to completion.
Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in alignment with organizational objectives.
Supervise site activities to ensure projects are executed according to specifications and standards.
Manage and coordinate engineers, contractors, and site personnel.
Ensure compliance with engineering standards, building regulations, and safety requirements.
Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure efficient utilization of materials, equipment, and human resources.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on project-related matters.
Oversee quality control processes to ensure high construction standards.
Prepare project reports, progress updates, and performance evaluations for management.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and project execution.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering and construction.
Professional certification (e.g., COREN) is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles.
Proven experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD and other design tools.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
