The College of Nursing Sciences, Lafia (also known as the Nasarawa State College of Nursing Sciences) is a state-owned health institution located in Lafia, Nasarawa State. The college provides professional training in nursing and midwifery and has recently been upgraded to a college status to meet national standards.Qualification and Experience
Must be a registered Nurse/Midwifery Educator
Must have at least a minimum of post-graduate degree (M.Sc) in Nursing or Midwifery.
Must have a minimum of ten (10) years Teaching and Administrative experience
Must have or possess a current Professional Licence of practice
Responsibilities
The Provost is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the College
He/she shall be the Accounting officer of the College.
He/she shall be responsible to the Council for the Execution of the Policies governing the College and day-to-administration of the College.
Shall be responsible to the Council for the day-to-day expenditure of the College in accordance with the budgeting estimate of the College and shall present the statement of Accounts to the Council in the manner required by it.
Carry out such other duties as the Council may from time to time assign.
Tenure
The Provost shall hold the office for a term of four (4) years and subject to renewal.
Salary and Conditions of Service
The conditions of service are as obtainable for the tertiary institutions in Nigeria and determined by the Governing Council of the College.
