We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Scrum Master to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating Agile processes and ensuring the smooth delivery of innovative projects across multiple business units.
As a central figure in our product and technology teams, the Scrum Master will foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring adherence to Scrum principles.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, guiding the team through Scrum practices and processes.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
Remove impediments and ensure the team has everything needed to achieve sprint goals.
Work closely with Product Owners to maintain well-groomed and prioritized product backlogs.
Support team productivity through coaching, mentoring, and promoting Agile best practices.
Track sprint progress using Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps) and report on key metrics like velocity and burndown.
Promote continuous improvement and feedback cycles within teams.
Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and team empowerment across all project phases.
Facilitate cross-team coordination, especially in multi-team projects or across departments.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and frameworks related to Agile and project delivery.
Requirements
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
Strong facilitation, organizational, and coaching skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Experience with Agile management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a technology-driven African enterprise or startup.
Knowledge of the financial, telecom, or logistics sector in Africa is a plus.
Familiarity with scaling Agile practices in medium to large organizations.
Hands-on experience with software delivery and product development cycles.
