Key Responsibilities:
Understanding curriculum requirements and creating syllabus, lesson plans, and educational content that satisfy these requirements.
Teaching musical instruments like piano, guitar, and violin.
Helping students understand and read music notes and scales.
Training students for events, musical performances, and concerts.
Analysing the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of students and structuring lessons and assessments around them.
Adjusting teaching methods to suit different groups of learners.
Creating engaging, stimulating lesson plans and asking frequent questions to make sure students are on track.
Reporting any progress issues to the head of the department, as well as the parents.
Attending meetings, training sessions, workshops, conferences, and other continuing education initiatives.
Providing extra support to students who require it, and more challenging tasks to those who are ahead of the class.
Keeping the line of communication open between students, staff, and parents.
Requirements:
Degree in Music or related field
Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a music teacher (full-time or part-time)
Relevant music teaching certifications may be required
Strong instrumental skills and knowledge of music theory
Patience, innovation, and effective classroom management skills
A completed teaching apprenticeship would be advantageous.
Familiarity with interactive teaching tools and 21st-century teaching methods
TRCN Certification is an added advantage
