The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for safeguarding the company’s financial integrity, optimizing profitability, and enabling sustainable growth.
This role oversees the accuracy of all financial operations, including revenue recognition, cost attribution, and reconciliation of settlement accounts.
The successful candidate will drive initiatives to prevent revenue leakage, strengthen internal controls, and ensure transparent tracking of financial flows across banking and partner platforms.
As a key advisor to the Executive team, Product, Engineering, and Business Units, the Senior Finance Manager will provide commercially grounded insights to support data-driven decision-making, risk mitigation, and long-term financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & leadership:
Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on financial planning, fundraising, business modeling, and risk management.
Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning across all business units.
Drive long-term financial strategy aligned with company objectives.
Finance Operations & Compliance:
Oversee all financial operations including accounting, treasury, tax, and internal controls.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with all statutory requirements.
Ensure full compliance with local and international financial regulations (e.g., CBN, PCI-DSS, KYC/AML, etc.).
Manage audit relationships, regulatory filings, and risk management processes.
Optimize working capital, cash flow management, and cost efficiency.
Commercial & Revenue Operations:
Own revenue assurance across transaction processing, fee structures, and partner settlements.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align revenue tracking with system architecture.
Team Leadership & Development:
Build and lead a high-performing finance team; mentor and develop in-house talent.
Foster a culture of financial discipline and accountability across departments.
Stakeholder Management:
Present clear financial insights and reporting to the board, investors, and external stakeholders.
Systems & Process Improvements:
Implement scalable systems, tools, and processes to support growth and ensure operational efficiency.
Leverage data to build dashboards, automate reporting, and improve financial visibility.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CISA, CFE) is a plus.
Experience:
7+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in high-growth environments, fintech, banking or payment services.
Proven experience leading budgeting, financial planning, and fundraising efforts.
Deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax regulations, and compliance frameworks.
Strong understanding of business metrics, unit economics, and SaaS / tech / product / retail finance
Skills:
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
Deep knowledge of payment infrastructure, transaction processing, and bank integration.
Proficiency with finance tools and reconciliation systems.
Comfortable working across cross-functional teams in high-growth and evolving environments.
