We are a geo-market leader in providing Well Services (Surface Well Testing, EPF, Wellhead Maintenance); Integrated Reservoir Studies; Pipeline laying/ maintenance, and Asset Management to help oil, and gas operators achieve their goals through a focus on good reservoir management, turnkey project development with a focus on return on investments.Responsibilities
Monitor and track the costing and valuation of upstream oil & gas projects, ensuring timely updates and accuracy.
Collaborate with the Procurement Officer to ensure cost-effective sourcing and accurate cost attribution to projects.
Maintain and track inventory records of project materials, consumables, and administrative items.
Support the design and implementation of internal control systems for project operations in collaboration with the Finance & Control team.
Safeguard and track company tangible assets and inventories, ensuring accountability and periodic verification.
Conduct and document regular stock-taking exercises at project sites.
Maintain cost and valuation reports to support budget tracking and financial reporting.
Handle the filing and remittance of applicable state-related taxes in accordance with regulatory timelines.
Liaise with site/project teams to monitor real-time use of materials and consumables.
Track and record movement of inventory (equipment, tools, and consumables) across departments and job sites.
Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile physical stock with financial records.
Process and document purchase requests and procurement transactions for machines, tools, and operational materials.
Support vendor sourcing, price comparison, and purchase order generation in line with company policy.
Liaise with the procurement and operations teams to monitor item usage and forecast future needs.
Tag, monitor, and maintain fixed assets register including equipment, machinery, and other capital items.
Prepare periodic reports on inventory levels, procurement spend, and asset acquisitions.
Ensure all financial entries related to procurement and inventory are accurate and timely.
Assist in audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Support the Chief Accountant with reconciliations, budgeting input, and cost tracking.
Requirements
Education:
B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Membership or student membership of a professional accounting body (ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
The candidate need not necessary chartered by in the process (possibly at the Skills or professional level – simply put, PARTLY-QUALIFY).
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Accounting, preferably with exposure to inventory, procurement, or operational accounting.
Prior experience in oil & gas, servicing, or construction environments is desirable.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and accounting software.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
