The Head of Accounts will lead the financial management and accounting operations of the organisation.
This senior role requires strategic financial oversight, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the company’s growth objectives through sound financial practices.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Nigerian accounting standards
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with external auditors
Supervise and mentor the accounts team, ensuring professional development and performance excellence
Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures
Monitor cash flow and working capital management
Prepare management reports and financial analysis for executive decision-making
Oversee project costing and profitability analysis for client campaigns
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities
Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments and client invoicing
Lead financial aspects of contract negotiations and client agreements
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
Support business development with financial modeling and proposal costing.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) certification – Mandatory
At least 3 years in a senior management or head of department role
Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems
Expert-level skills in Quicbooks, Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
