The Further Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction, particularly in advanced and IGCSE Further Mathematics.
The role involves preparing students for academic excellence, fostering analytical thinking, and supporting learners to achieve outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Mathematics and Further Mathematics (IGCSE curriculum)
Prepare students for internal and external examinations
Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials
Assess, record, and report students’ academic progress
Provide extra support to students who require additional help
Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment in the classroom
Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles
Participate in school meetings, training, and extracurricular activities
Integrate technology into teaching and learning where applicable.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education (Mathematics), or a related field
IGCSE Further Mathematics certification is an added advantage
Teaching certification (TRCN) is an added advantage.
Experience:
2–3 years teaching experience in Mathematics or Further Mathematics
Experience with IGCSE or similar international curriculum is highly preferred
Proven track record of preparing students for external exams.
